When women launch out into business they have to make sure they understand the importance of:
Navigating
Collaborating
Negotiations
It takes a great NAVIGATOR to go into a setting that may not be comfortable or welcoming. But women should go anyway. We have seen many that have stepped out even when they weren’t comfortable and created great products and services. When you are navigating new territory be a trailblazer. A Trail Blazer is a person who makes, does, or discovers something new and makes it acceptable or popular. (Webster Dictionary)
Without COLLABORATION I believe we will not grow and sustain our businesses. Stop believing that someone will steal your idea. An idea is best known when you talk about it and share it with the right collaborators or partnerships. Remember we are better together. You will come up with better ways to launch and promote when sitting at the table with other innovators, thought leaders, and dreamers.
Never go to the table without being prepared for NEGOTIATIONS. Many will receive an NO because of the lack of preparation. Just put yourself in the investor’s seat and say to yourself “Would I invest in this idea with what I have heard?” Preparation opens the door to opportunity.
